First – Find an exclusive Realtor to represent you.

Even though the internet gives buyers unprecedented access to home listings, new buyers and experienced buyers are better off using a professional real estate agent.  Look for an exclusive buyer agent who will have your interests at heart and can help you with strategies during the bidding process.  Buyers representation is free!  The commission is paid for by the sellers!  If you do not secure representation, you are not saving money.  You are forgoing a having the free services of a Realtor to represent your best interest.

Second – Get pre-qualified with a Mortgage Professional.

Getting pre-qualified will you save yourself the grief of looking at houses you can’t afford and put you in a better position to make a serious offer when you do find the right house.  Contact several lenders and determine which one will give you the best deal.
